Childhood Cancer Careline Giving from the Heart receives a $10,000.00 grant from the Amgen Foundation
Ask any parent what they are most thankful for and chances are their children's health will be near the top of the list. But for thousands of families from the Northwest who each day confront the reality of childhood cancer, the answer is a little different. They will tell you they are thankful for the support from Children' Cancer Lifeline.
On behalf of our foundation and the families we serve, we are excited to announce we have received a grant for our Outreach and Emergency Services Programs in the amount of $10,000.00 from the Amgen Foundation located in the United States.
Our Board Members have been working hard on expanding the Outreach Program that is designed to address a significant need in our community for financial relief for childhood cancer families: getting kids to and from their doctor appointments, and having food on their table.
With increased awareness of the efforts of the efforts of Childhood Cancer Careline the number of children and families who need our support is growing. It is only with the generosity of the support from our community through contribution that they will receive this support.
Thanks to the commitment and generous grant from the Amgen Foundation, we will continue to impact and make and important difference in the lives of children battling cancer and their families. The Amgen Foundation (www.amgen.com/citizenship/overview.html ) seeks to advance science education; improve patient access to quality care; and strengthen the communities where Amgen staff members live and work. Since 1991, the Foundation has made $70 million in grants to local, regional and national non-profit organizations that impact society in inspiring and innovative ways. It has also supported disaster relief efforts both domestically and internationally.
Thank you Amgen Foundation
